Our store is small and independently owned. We carry a wide variety of used books from many different genres.

New books are 25% off, which normally consists of Romance and Romantic Suspense and now, a small selection of "Cozy" Mysteries.

Upon request we can order almost any book, not out of print. We may even have what you're looking for in stock on the shelves. Go to our Offline Book Search page for more on that.

We trade books, we don’t buy them. Please check out the procedure for trading on our Policy Page.

Need a gift for a Book Lover? Gift Certificates are available locally in any amount. Expiration date is 1 year from date of purchase (however, we're flexible regarding expired certificates).

Our Stock And Pricing

Pricing on the used books are 1/2 off the cover price. These books may be purchsed with your trade/credit. When you do purchase books by using your credit, the first $4.00 of the transaction is required in cash, check, or charge with the remaining books you're purchasing to be deducted from your credit. For more information, please see our Policy Page. There are a few exceptions, however, to what can be purchased with your trade/credit. They are listed below.

What types of books do we carry? The Types of Genres page brakes them down into categories.

This means your store credit cannot be used with these purchases.

You may pay by cash, credit/debit card, or personal check.

We carry a selection of *"cash only" books where your store credit cannot be used.

They consist of:

• Recently Released Titles - new/fairly new titles that have been traded in
• Bestselling Authors, and Hard to Find Books - Betty Neels, J.D. Robb, Louis L'Amour, Janet Evanovich, etc.
• Classics - romance, sci-fi, literature
• Audio Books - selection is small but varied - see note below
• The Bargain Barn - a large variety of books that have one or two hole punches in the top right corner of the cover and have been very well read
• (1) one hole punch ~ 2 for $1.00 or 5 for $2.00
• (2) two hole punches ~ 1 for .75 or 8 for $5.00
• from time to time management will offer specials on these already reduced prices
• Hardcovers - the hardcovers we carry are donated ~ we don't accept hardcovers for credit
• Other Select Titles - at the discretion of the manager

Regarding Audio and Sci-Fi books, if you bring either in for credit, you may use your credit on your purchase of other Audio book or Sci-Fi books. Otherwise they are "cash only." There may some exceptions to this at the discretion of the management or staff on duty.

About The Store

This past summer ('06), Page passed away due to cancer. She was a beloved, yet finicky, "sophisticated" Dorothy used to say, mascot for the store. She's missed by the staff as well as the customers.

Now, however, when you visit us you will be met by a new mascot, in addition to Pyewacket (named from Bell Book and Candle) the black. Her name is Harlee Quinn (Harlee for short), and is she into everything, making her quite the handful! Of course, she's still a baby yet. And of course many of the customers still greet the cats before they greet us. We don’t know why. We’re sweet too.

The store is a warm and friendly place to come browse for books. There are many customers who feel comfortable enough to browse and shop for hours, even sit on the floor and get nudged by Pyewacket or Harlee. Many new customers have commented that they will have to come back when they have much more time to spend going through the books. It's that type of camaraderie we strive to develop with our customers, even though they do talk to the cats first.

Our customers love books and know we do, too. We are always happy to offer suggestions if you are in a reading slump or are looking for a new author. And always, we are happy to talk about our favorite books and authors.
