Meet the staff; Tina, Connie, and Dorothy!

The three of us love reading, though our tastes may vary from one another. That, however, doesn't stop us from talking about the books we've enjoyed and just finished reading...

Tina, manager/part owner, has worked at Dog Eared Books for 18 years.

She's been married for 26 years to a great guy and all-around handyman, Ronnie (AKA as LeRoy by Tina). They have a 26 year-old daughter, 3 year-old granddaughter, a 22 year-old son, a daughter-in-law, and an almost 2 year-old grandson. Her 15 year-old nephew lives with them, too, and is definitely a part of the family. RoseHer household is rounded out by her dog Scottie, who is a pitiful mess when it comes to cold weather, and various rescued cats.

She loves chocolate and reading, often both at the same time and not necessarily in that order (depends on the day and mood). Another love of hers is her rosebushes. She loves pruning and taking care of them, and of course cutting them to enjoy. She has the greenest thumb!

Among her collections of dolls and teacups is...rocks. Large (beautiful) rocks pilfered from various places and states. (Can you hear Connie snicker?? : - ))

A few of her favorite authors are; Cheryl St.John, Julie Garwood (old historicals), Catherine Anderson, Victoria Laurie, and Gemma Halliday, just to name a few. She has discovered that she enjoys Jim Butcher's books as well as cozy/romantic/paranormal mysteries.

Dancing with the Stars is one of her favorite shows. She loves loves Country Music, especially Garth Brooks, Rascall Flatts and Keith Urban, and of course Eighties music.

Connie is a part-time employee and has worked at Dog Eared Books for just about 10 years. She's done a lot of behind the scenes work as well and has been a right-hand and idea gal for Tina.

MollyShe's been married for just over 29 years to an easy-going man, Mike (AKA Frog or Kermie, but only by Connie), and they have a 28 year-old daughter and a 26 year-old son. She also has a brilliant and beautiful dog (Black Lab/Aussie mix), Molly (at the left), two grand-dogs (Boston and Toots), and two grand-cats (Fireball and Little Bit). In a couple of years the family will include a son-in-law, but really he’s family now.

Chocolate, Dove being her favorite brand, and reading are high on her list of favs. Connie and her husband enjoy watching the old classic movies; westerns, comedies, and some musicals. They also enjoy a good sci-fi movie from time to time.

Her preferred reading choice is the cozy/romantic/paranormal mysteries. In general here are a few of her favorite authors; Julia Quinn, Cheryl St. John, Maddy Hunter, Rebecca Paisley (why isn’t she still writing?), Victoria Laurie. As with everyone, her list changes with time.

Connie is a fan of Dancing with the Stars, also. She enjoys a small select list of other TV hits as well as SG1 re-runs. Her favorite singer would have to be, hands down, Dean Martin (Uh-HuH!!), but she also really likes Michael Bublè, the crooners/singers of the 40’s, and the groups of the 50's. You know, old jukebox favorites.

Dorothy is a full-time employee and has worked at Dog Eared Books for 10 years.

She is married to Forest. They have a grown son and daughter and a grown granddaughter. She also has a school age grandson and great-grandson. Yellow Wildflower

Dorothy and her husband enjoy camping with friends and family whenever they can. Their favorite spot is in Southern Missouri. In addition to the camaraderie and companionship, they enjoy trout fishing, swimming, and hiking.

What a surprise! Dorothy loves chocolate and reading. She also enjoys shopping for bargains. She is very crafty and has quite a resume in the types of crafts she is accomplished at. Shirley, her sister and partner in crime, is often by Dorothy’s side, whether bargain shopping or setting up their craft booths.

Dorothy's favorite author's are William Sarabande, Jean Auel, Elizabeth Lowell, Elizabeth Peters, and Diane Mott Davidson. She enjoys a varied assortment of genres, and her list of favorites continues to grow.

Her favorite song is The Rose no matter who sings it. She also has some great memories of playing cards with friends to the songs of Dean Martin.
